#MalalaYousafzai Is The Youngest Ever Winner Of The #NobelPeacePrize

The Nobel Committee has just awarded the 2014 peace prize to Malala Yousafzai, 17, who becomes the youngest ever winner of the award since it was created.

Malala Yousafzai is an advocate for girls’ education and for that, she was targeted by the Taliban in her native Pakistan when she was 14. The taliban shot her in the head in an assassination attempt but Malala survived.

Malala Marks Her 17th Birthday With Escaped Chibok Girls and Parents [Photos]

Malala Yousafzai, who is currently visiting Nigeria, has pledged yesterday to help free the 219 schoolgirls being held by Boko Haram since April 15. 

Malala met with about 15 parents and five of the 57 girls who escaped from the Boko Haram custody. Some of the parents broke down in tears as Malala spoke at a hotel.

“I can see those girls as my sisters … and I’m going to speak up for them until they are released.”

Malala's 17th birthday is today and she cut a cake with some of her guests to cheer things up. She is also scheduled to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan today.

Malala Yousafzai To Visit Nigeria In Support of Campaign for Missing Chibok Schoolgirls

Malala Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban when she was 14 for campaigning for Girls Education in her home country of Pakistan. 

The young activist will visit Nigeria to campaign on behalf of the girls abducted from their school by terror group Boko Haram back in April.

Her visit to Nigeria comes almost 90days since the abduction of the girls and her presence is expected to add to the pressure on the Nigerian government.

Malala also turned 17 today. Happy birthday to her. Watch her talk about the missing schoolgirls below...

First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama posted the picture above on Instagram with the caption, “Our prayers are with the missing Nigerian girls and their families. It’s time to #BringBackOurGirls.” Malala also shared a picture holding up a sign in solidarity with the parents of the abducted children and Nigerians as a whole. She added;
